Welcome to High Plains Software
Utilities for the way you work.
 |
HPS HwndSpy |
 |
HPS HwndSpy is a programming utility that allows developers
to visually locate and inspect windows that are currently
being displayed. When the cursor is moved over a window,
HPS HwndSpy will display various attributes about the
window, including its size, location, class, and style.
This is very useful in analyzing windows in a deeply
layered GUI application. HPS HwndSpy is an invaluable
tool for developers doing maintenance on GUI applications,
where they first need to understand the windows hierarchy
and how the windows are structured.

HPS PixelColor |
 |
HPS PixelColor is a color management utility that allows you
to select colors from any point on the screen, save them to a palette,
and mix text and background colors. HPS PixelColor includes
built-in charts for the 140 named HTML colors, 224 web-safe colors,
and 210 classic RAL colors.
HPS PixelColor is a valuable tool
for anyone involved in graphics or web development, and
takes up very little space on the screen – it can
be minimized to a single display line, or maximized to
display the tabbed main window.
With HPS PixelColor, you do not need to
use an "eyedropper tool" to pick up a color. The HPS PixelColor
display is updated
automatically as the cursor is moved, and you can see immediately what
color is under the cursor. Even when HPS PixelColor is minimized
to the task bar, you can still see the color.
HPS PixelColor displays the color under the cursor in RGB (red-green-blue)
format, in HTML format, and also displays the HTML color name
(for the 140 named colors).

HPS Search |
 |
HPS Search is a Windows version of the Unix grep text search utility.
With HPS Search you can easily find text words and phrases in multiple
files and subdirectories.
HPS Search is ready to use with no
complicated setup – select the starting directory, enter the text to
search for, and hit Start. You will immediately begin seeing a list
of files displayed, as matches are found. Click on one of the matches,
and you will see the line containing the match, with some extra lines
above and below to show you the context.
HPS Search offers four kinds
of searches including regular expressions. Search text is saved to
allow instant repeat searches with different settings. And the
exclusive Speed Folders™ found only in HPS Search give you direct
access to frequently used folders.
HPS Search does not permit changing text or
modifying files, so it is guaranteed safe for use in
computer forensics situations. HPS Search is very
effective in security, law enforcement, and other
legal investigations such as cases involving
intellectual property. To aid in authentication, HPS Search
inserts a digital signature each time you save your
search results to a file.

HPS Strings |
 |
HPS Strings is a Windows version of the Unix strings utility.
With HPS Strings you can easily find character strings in
binary or text files. HPS Strings is ready to use with no
complicated setup – select the file, and you will
immediately see a list of the strings in that file.
HPS Strings output is customizable – you can specify
the minimum length of strings to find, and also the
maximum number of strings. To flag lines containing
specific key words or phrases, you can set up highlight
filters that will display those lines in colors that you
select, and include filters that will only display lines
containing specific keywords.
You can select multiple files and scan them for strings
with a simple user interface. You can copy the details
of the results to the Clipboard, and paste them into
Microsoft® Excel or any text editor for analysis.
HPS Strings includes the free HPS HexEditor,
which lets you inspect and modify binary (non-text) files.

HPS WinTail |
 |
HPS WinTail is the ultimate Windows port of the Unix tail
utility. Just like the Unix tail, HPS WinTail continually
displays new lines as they are appended to a text file -
for example, a log file or a trace output file. We have
added highlighting filters, include filters, exclude
filters, and other features that combine to make this
a truly useful utility for developers and sysadmins.
